Mandsaur (Madhya Pradesh): The Mandsaur administration booked one Congress candidate for violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
Additional district collector and district election officer RP Verma said that the Model Code of Conduct was being violated in Ward No 36 by Congress candidate Narayan Karadia and a case has been registered against him under relevant sections.
Notably, Congress candidate Narayan Karadia had allegedly recommended one voter Akbar's father Akram Khan to get the benefits of government schemes including e-shram card, PAN card, the opening of bank accounts, and making Aadhar cards for the residents of the ward.
Soon after coming to know about this, complaints were made by other candidates.
The district election officers have taken action in the matter. An FIR has been registered against the Congress candidate under Section 171B and Section 171C of Indian Penal Code 1860 for luring voters of the ward, interfering in the free exercise of their electoral rights and giving bribes.
