Admission process under Right to Education underway at district panchayat CEO office in Mandsaur on Saturday

Mandsaur (Madhya Pradesh): Under Right to Education Act (RTE), the process of giving free admission to children of deprived sections of the society in private schools is underway. For this, 25 per cent seats have been reserved in private schools, in which underprivileged children are to be admitted after online process.

The process of online application, verification is going on from June 10. All this is being done under guidance of district panchayat chief executive officer Rishab Gupta.

So far, 1,759 children have submitted online applications under RTE in the district. Of the total, 750 applications have been verified. In 659 private schools in the district, 5,669 seats have been reserved for students under RTE. The last date for application is June 30, 2021.

Those eligible for admission under RTE include students of SC/ST category, living below poverty line, forest village lease holders, 3 to 5 year-old orphaned during Covid-19.

District project coordinator RP Prajapati said parents can apply for child at any online kiosk centre or from his own computer or mobile phone. While applying, copies of child's birth certificate, domicile, caste certificate, ration card, Aadhaar card, photo etc will have to be attached.

In all, 10 private schools can be selected at the time of application. In this, the school whose name will come during lottery system will get admission.

The arrangements for RTE application verification has been at 44 Jan Shiksha Kendra in the district. Parents can take the original documents to the centre and get the verification done.
