Man, son thrashed by neighbours

Indore: A man along with his two sons beat up their neighbour’s son and later attacked the neighbour with sticks and iron rods when he tried to reason with the trio. Police have registered a case against the trio. According to Chandan Nagar police, the incident occurred in Sahyog Nagar on Monday night. A function was being held in the colony and the road was occupied for the purpose. This forced the residents to walk along the open verandah of a house to reach their destination. However, when the house owner’s neighbour’s son Arun crossed over, he was beaten up by the house owner and his two sons. The boy reported the matter to his father, Chetram (40), who came to reason with his neighbours but the trio fell upon him with sticks and rods and beat him up as well. The two injured have been admitted to a hospital while cases have been registered against Amar Singh and his two sons, Pappu and Lakhan.

Truck overturns

A speeding truck, loaded with merchandise, turned turtle late on Monday night near Bombay Hospital. However, the driver and cleaner escaped with minor injuries. According to the police, the accident occurred around 1am. The truck was coming from Mhow and going towards Dewas and as it neared Bombay Hospital Square the driver apparently lost control over the vehicle and it turned turtle. Both the driver and cleaner escaped with minor injuries.

Juvenile caught stealing

A teenager was caught stealing from a grocery store on Tuesday morning. According to the police, the incident occurred in Vivekanand Nagar. The boy, son of a caretaker residing in Telephone Nagar, had gone to Patidar Kirana Store to buy groceries. When the store owner entered the rear portion of the store for some time, the accused rummaged through the cash box and was about to grab the cash when the owner caught him red handed. Area corporator and speaker of council, Ajay Singh Narooka and Health Officer Dr KS Verma, who were monitoring sanitation work, also reached the spot and handed over the boy to the police.

Theft

Thieves broke into a house belonging to Man Singh Dabi, located on Gandhi Nagar, and decamped with booty worth thousands. According to Singh, he along with his family, had gone to attend a function at his younger brother’s house on Monday at 11am and returned home around 3 pm. As they entered the house, they found almirahs open and stuff lying strewn about on the floor. A check found that the thieves had stolen gold and silver ornaments along with Rs 3000 cash. The second theft occurred in the house of Kamal Yadav in Sector B in Shriyantra Nagar and stole gold silver ornaments along with Rs 12000 cash.
