Indore : A local court on Wednesday sentenced a man and his son to three and seven years of rigorous imprisonment respectively for cheating and forgery.

The court of additional district judge Rajesh Kumar Gupta handed down the sentence as per which Gyanchand Jain (75) would have to face three years of RI and Manish Jain (40) seven years RI. The convicts are residents of Jawahar Marg.

Public prosecutor Santosh Chourasiya said father and son run Acharya Gyanchand Ayurvedic Foundation for which they purchased 2.4 acre of land at Talavali Chanda from Govind Goyal.

To purchase land from Govind Goyal, Manish Jain introduced himself as Raju Chhagan Lal, a real estate agent.  He facilitated the deal and received commission from Govind Goyal. The cheque for the commission amount was in name of Raju Chhagal Lal. So he opened a fake bank account in a cooperative bank and withdrew the amount. “The duo purchased land from Govind Goyal for their own and also received commission from him and went on to open fake bank account with forged documents,” said Chourasiya. The court found them guilty of fraud and forgery.
