Indore : A 33-year-old man committed suicide by hanging in Aerodrome area on Wednesday. He was duped by a conman of Rs 1.60 lakh with the promise of doubling his money, but the police refuted this claim.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Mansingh, (33) a resident of Kaidar Nagar. He was found hanging by his brother-in-law Vijay and was taken to MY hospital immediately but it was too late. The police sent the body for autopsy and are taking his family members statements to know the reason behind his suicide.
Vijay told Free Press that a conman posing as sage had contacted Mansingh for doubling his money a couple of days ago. After which Mansingh borrowed Rs 1.60 lakh from some people and the whole amount was given to the conman. Later, the conman called him to Kasrawad and managed to escape after taking the money from him. Since then Mansingh was under depression and committed suicide on Wednesday.
In preliminary investigation, police denied the duping incident and said that investigations are on.
