Dhar (Madhya Pradesh): The main water source of Dhar city, Sita Path, has completely run out of water. According to experts, deepening of the water source has not been done for years and can solve the problem. Although Dilavari and Kaal Bhairav Jaa ponds are also sources of water for the area, the main source is Sita Path.
Chief Municipal Officer Nishikant Shukla said that they have enough water for citizens for 15 days, after which the city may face a water crisis.
Reportedly, there is always a shortage of water in Dhar with a population of about one lakh. Although Devi Sagar and Munj Sagar ponds of the city are deepened every year, Sita Path is not.
As a result, less water with a lot of mud has been supplied in the city increasing the number of patients of water-borne diseases like cholera, typhoid, jaundice, and others. Due to the dirt, a 120-horsepower motor used to draw water was also burnt, hampering the water supply on Saturday.
