Chandrashekhar Azad Nagar (Madhya Pradesh): Scores of animals were sacrificed by the villagers at Doben Chhota Talab located here in Chandrashekhar village of Alirajpur district as a part of an age-old tradition to appease the Gods for good rain and harvest.
As per the practice, the villagers perform a special ritual, including the sacrifice of animals, to appease the Rain God.
A resident of Sejawada, Jitendra Singh Ganawa said that the ritual of sacrificing lives have been taken up by people of 12 colonies of rain-starved Sejawada village in the hope of receiving good rain.
