Madhya Pradesh: To celebrate corona free status of village, villagers send 2,200 watermelons to crematorium

RATLAM: People in Sohangarh village of Piploda development block celebrated corona free status by sending watermelons and wood to crematorium.

During the second wave of Covid -19 a total of 53 people tested positive in the village.

Among them 29 were admitted to the Covid care centre started with the donations of villagers.

While serious patients were sent to the designated hospitals. Three patients out of total 53 died of corona. But at the village situated covid care centre all the 29 patients recovered. An official said that one person in the village is still under home isolation.

To celebrate the status corona free village, village people sent 2,200 Watermelons and four trolley of wood for the Muktidham in Ratlam.

One person was found Covid-19 positive in the containment area in Mahesh Nagar (Nayagaon) on Thursday.

Naib teshildar Naveen Garg said that it had come to the notice of administration that on the death of an active positive woman her relatives had reached from another place.

Their sampling helped in identifying the corona positive person among them. He said that legal actions will be taken against them for violating containment norms.

229 under treatment, 15 discharged

RATLAM: GMC dean Dr Jitendra Gupta informed that at GMC Covid-19 hospital 322 beds are vacant on Thursday. Dr Gupta said vacancy status of 550 beds is as follows: ICU beds 56 (occupied 54), HDU beds 172 (occupied 136), Oxygen beds 180 (occupied 30), non-oxygen beds 142(occupied 8). A total of 228 patients are under treatment, including 167 active positive and remaining suspected or of oxygen level. He added that 15 corona winners were discharged after recovery.
