Alirajpur (Madhya Pradesh): The Special Surveillance Team (SST) seized a significant amount of cash and silver during vehicle inspections at the Kanwada checkpoint, under the supervision of Jobat SDM Virendra Singh.
A vehicle, managed by Ranjeet, was found carrying around 20 kilograms of silver. The vehicle's driver Amin, accompanied by Radhu Ram Singh and Kunwar Singh, both hailing from Bhilkhedi were also caught along with him.
Tehsildar Jobat, Sunil Rana, confirmed the seizure of a substantial amount of silver during the check. Similarly, at the Kundwat checkpost, supervised by Alirajpur SDM Tapis Pandey, authorities seized Rs 40,000 cash along with 8.3 kilograms of silver from Dinesh, a resident of Chikhoda village in Kundwat.
The action was taken by Sorva police station in-charge Dilip Chandel, who confiscated the cash and silver from the person at the Kundwat checkpost. These stringent measures are part of the district's efforts to maintain the integrity of the electoral process.
In Alirajpur, as part of preparations for the assembly elections, measures are being taken to ensure free and fair conduct of polls. Under the guidance of collector and district election officer Dr Abhay Arvind Bedekar, checkposts have been established at key border points within the district.
