MAHIDPUR (UJJAIN DISTRICT): During the second wave of corona, Mahidpur-based Dr Vijay Chhajlani treated more than 4,000 Covid-19 patients through mobile phone.
Dr Chhajlani, who retired from the post of district tuberculosis officer in Ujjain district, has people of Vapi, Delhi, Noida, including Indore in his patients’ list.

He said, “The second wave wreaked havoc and the patients were neither getting medical beds nor doctors, so I used social media to reach out to them.”
“I explained to the people that hopsitalisation is not needed unless the condition of the patient is serious. People suffering from symptoms of corona can contact online for counselling.”
“Calls poured in and through word of mouth four thousand families got in touch with me,” said Dr Chhajlani.
A NRI person whose grandparents and parents were under the grip of corona, too contacted him and to their relief their patients were free from corona.
