Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Pardeshipura police arrested an absconding rape accused on Sunday who had a reward of Rs 5K for his arrest. The accused has eight cases registered against him at various police stations in the city.
The team led by police station in-charge Ashok Patidar while patrolling at Damru Ustad Square got a tip off that a suspicious man was roaming in the area and had been spotted below the Bhagirathpura Bridge. Police team reached the spot and waited for the man to come out on the road and then nabbed him.
He was identified as Suresh Gokhrele (31) who had reward of Rs 5,000 for arrest. The accused has several cases related to assault, stabbing, illegal weapons etc registered against him, police said.
Police said that the victim in her complaint alleged that on September 9 around 10:30 pm the accused entered her house while she was sleeping. He raped her by clamping her mouth. He also threatened her of dire consequences if she told anyone of the incident. Victim shared it with her female family members who helped her in lodging a complaint with the police.
