Nagda: During the second wave of corona, the CT scan machine at Indubhai Parikh Memorial Trust Hospital (IPMT) proved to be a boon for people in Nagda and nearby areas.

As per the data shared by Hospital management on Tuesday, a total of 64 per cent of the citizens who got tested through the machine tested positive for corona.

Expert here assert that there is an urgent need to install another CT machine in the government hospital here to handle the third wave of corona.

The significance of the access to the CT scan can be gauged from the fact that the RTPCR and rapid antigen test reports of most of these people were negative. The infection could only be detected through CT scan, said an expert.

Out of the 1,740 people who got their CT scan done at Janseva Hospital, 1,110 were found to be corona positive.

Given the virulent nature of the strain behind second wave of corona the situation could have been much worse for the people in Nagada had the infected patients not received timely diagnosis and treatment.
