Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): A 35-year-old man, who came from Uttar Pradesh on Sunday to have Mahakal darshan and bathe in Kshipra, died before he could receive blessings here.
Santosh, son of Swaraj Yadav, resident of village Sirawali of Kasganj tehsil of Uttar Pradesh, had come with his cousin Dinesh, son of Vasudev Yadav. Before having Mahakal darshan, both of them had reached Kshipra River for bathing.
Cousin Dinesh said that he was sitting on the banks of the river and Santosh went to bathe in the river before him. While he was taking off his clothes, Santosh started sinking. Seeing him drowning, he shouted to save him but by then he had fallen into the river.
Hearing the noise, Home Guard jawans and members of Kshipra Swimming Group rushed there. They found him and took him out from the Kshipra in about 15-20 minutes.
