Khachrod (Ujjain district, Madhya Pradesh): Demand for an agriculture college in Khachrod has been raised by public participation committee head Anil Chhajed, who has written letters to union minister Thawar Chand Gehlot, higher education minister Mohan Yadav and MP Anil Firozia demanding the same.
Chhajed mentioned in the letters that there is no shortage of land in Khachrod. "If an agricultural college is opened, then it will prove to be a milestone as students of the city and surrounding rural areas will study modern farming techniques and will be able to conduct new experiments as per wish of Prime Minister Narendra Modi," he said.
The children of farmers will also benefit, he added. At present, 1500 students are studying in the local college, out of whom 60 per cent students come from rural areas to study.
