Indore: Former Union minister and BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia on Sunday played the Dalit card in a public meeting at Kample village in poll-bound Sanwer assembly constituency.

Hours after chief minister Kamal Nath called former minister Imarti Devi 'an item', Scindia termed the remark as “an insult of the entire Dalit community”.

“Imarti Devi, who belongs to the Dalit community, struggled a lot and made her position in politics. She is not 'an item'. She is a Dalit woman. Nath’s statement is not only against women but it is also insult of entire Dalit community,” he stated. He also stated that Congress leader Ajay Singh had called her “Jalebi” .

Scindia stated that this is not a stray incident of anti-Dalit posture of Congress. “Congress had two candidates for Rajya Sabha elections – one was Nath's 'brother' (Digvijaya Singh) and other was Phool Singh Baraiya of Dalit community. Nath ensured Baraiya's defeat so that his 'brother' could win,” he said adding that this is Nath’s attitude towards the Dalit community.

Scindia stated that he always stood for what is right for people and the country. “Though I was in Congress, I supported the abrogation of Article 370 decision of Narendra Modi government. Also, I opposed the anti-farmer government led by Nath,” he stated.

Scindia stated that today grand Ram temple is in the making because of the Modi government. “The BJP's slogan is Jai Siyaram whereas that of Congress is Jai Jai Kamal Nath.

“Nath and Digvijay Singh call me and Tulsi Silawat traitors but the fact remains that they are the biggest traitors in the state,” he said.

I am crow for Nath-Diggy: Scindia

Scindia said he was taught in the childhood that “Jhooth Bole Kauva Kaate”. “I want to tell Digvijaya Singh and Kamal Nath - I am their crow,” he said. He stated that he thought there would be development in Nath government. Forget development in 15 months of Nath government, he made Vallabh Bhavan a centre of corruption. His younger brother (Digvijay Singh) was with him in the corruption. “I believed that Nath is an industrialist, so he will bring industries to the state. Rather , he opened up a transfer industry at Vallabh Bhavan,” he said.

As he betrayed the farmers, so I taught him a lesson by toppling his government.

Silawat said that this election is an election between the monk and the devil. “If any person has the power to bring down the government for the benefit of the general public in this state, that happens to be Scindias.

To a query by media persons that Congress is saying that it's a jolt for you that BJP kept you on the 10th place in the list of star campaigners, Jyotiraditya Scindia said it is great to hear that Congress is worried about him. "My interest is not having my name or photo in the posters. I am interested in making a place in the hearts of the public," he said
