Indore: A day after Congress leader and former minister Sajjan Singh Verma dubbed BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya as Ravana, the latter's MLA son Akash Vijayvargiya lashed out at the Congress leader for his remarks and challenged him to contest elections from Indore.
“Politics is not about using derogatory words or capturing the houses of the poor. Politics is for service,” he said in a video statement issued on Sunday.
Highlighting his father political achievements, Akash said that Verma’s stature is no match to that of senior Vijayvargiya.
“When Vijayvargiya was Indore Mayor, Indore Municipal Corporation didn't have funds even to give salary of employees. With his wisdom, he worked and laid a network of roads all over Indore. While an IT minister, he brought companies like TCS and Infosys. While a PWD minister, he formed the MPRDC through which a network of roads was laid all over the state,” Akash said.
The MLA said that Verma knows his political status very well. Despite being an Indorean, he contests election from Sonkutch.
“I challenge if you are a real man then show it by contesting from Indore. You will find out who is the lion and who is the jackal,” he said.
Akash claimed that the entire Verma family tried to ensure his defeat in assembly elections in 2018 but he still won. “That election was just a trailer,” he said.
What Verma's had said
Enraged over Vijayvargiya dubbing Kamal Nath and Digvijay Singh as Chunnu-Munnu and Rahul Gandhi as Pappu, Verma in an election rally in Sanwer said that as Dussehra approaches, the BJP’s leader face starts to resemble like that of Ravana.
