Indore : Lok Ayukta police on Thursday started the probe into the Rs 640 crore fake C-form scam, after it was assigned the case. DSP BS Parihar told Free Press, “We have taken the bridle of the probe and soon it will gain speed.” He did not disclose that the when the agency would conclude the probe and will be in a position to file the FIRs in the matter. It may be recalled that during 2006 to 2011, over 12 edible oil firms generated fake C-forms and carried out trade of Rs 1146.95 crore.
The firms had dodged the commercial tax to the tune of Rs 150 crore. The firms generated fake C-forms worth Rs 640 crore.
Sources of the commercial tax department said, over 12 oil firms are involved in the matter. They had sold the oil to over 12 states across the country. The matter was earlier investigated by the commercial tax department.
