Live- in partners held for kidnapping trader’s son

Indore: Police cracked the kidnapping of garments trader’s son, Ashish Rajguru, in just 12 hours and arrested a girl and his live- in partner, on Tuesday morning.The accused kept the victim hostage at their rented flat in Chikitsak Nagar and demanded a ransom of Rs 1 crore from the family to release him.

However, the joint efforts of police’s East and West wing spoiled their plan and they were arrested during the raid. Police handed over Ashish to his family members.IGP Vipin Maheshwari announced a reward of Rs 50,000 to the police team and the family members have also declared a reward of Rs 1.11 lakh to the team.

According to DIG Rakesh Gupta, son of garment trader Anil Rajguru, Ashish ( 25) was abducted by a girl Jessy Anthony, a native of Pune and her live- in partner Ishant Mishra ( 30), a native of Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh.

“ Jessy was in contact with Ashish for the last 6 months as she worked in a real- state company, located at the same building where Rajguru’s garment showroom ( Mehrana Garments) was located. She called Ashish for a beer party at her flat in Chikitsak Nagar and then abducted him with the help of Ishant,” Gupta said.

“I had got a call from Jessy, on Monday noon, while I was attending a marriage function at Rhythm Garden. She asked me for a beer party at her flat after which I reached there with three beer bottles as she had informed me that her brother-in-law Ishant has also been coming there. After consuming beer, the duo sent me to a room and locked there,” Ashish said. Superintendent of Police (West) Aabid Khan said that the accused had called Anil Rajguru for ransom of Rs 1 crore for releasing Ashish.

“After negotiation, the accused demanded Rs 13 lakh and told him to come near a temple in Mahalaxmi Nagar locality. They didn’t come for the first time to take the money and changed the place after which Ishant, who came to receive ransom amount was arrested by the team,” he said adding “subsequently, the team raided the flat and recovered Ashish from there safely.” Senior police officials praised the police team and announced the reward.
