Light Metro project to get major boost

Indore : The slow pacing proposed ‘Light Metro Train Project’ is broadly expected to get a major push from the next month onwards after the district administration, in a review meet attended by high level officials at organised at Anand Mohan Mathur Auditorium, has assured UAD minister to inform about availability of land for Entire Fast Mass Mobility Project within the next two days.

Urban Administration Development and Environment Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya also instructed the administration to resolve all the basic hurdles coming in front of laying of the Metro Project before the meeting he has called on April 7.

He also took cognizance of growing complaints against A2Z Company, and asked the officials to take a quick decision in this regard. Reviewing the major development projects of the city in a high level meeting on Wednesday at Anand Mathur Auditorium, UAD Minister Vijayvargiya gave strict instructions to the officers to speed up in the progress of the major development projects of the city.

During the review, the minister asked about the hurdles coming in preparation of DPR of the proposed Light Metro Train Project and told the officials to get rid of them as soon as possible.

PS UADE SN Mishra, informed that the district administration is yet to avail the information about the government land coming in the way of the proposed route of the project.

The PS was immediately instructed to call Collector Akash Tripathi, who was out of town. However Tripathi has assured the minister that information will be available with him within the next two days.

Vijayvargiya also instructed all the stakeholders of the project to resolve all the hurdles in a week before the high level meeting he has called on April 7 at Bhopal, to take a final call on the project.

15 km in 1st phase

Earlier, OSD of the project Joint collector Kamal Nagar informed that DPR of the project is about to complete and they are just waiting for the information of availability of the government land from the district administration. He said that under the train will run 15km per hour under the first phase.

Cleanliness drive to held twice a week 

Touching the core issue of ‘cleanliness’, UADE Minister said that some improvement is visible, but a lot is still needed to be done. He said that Rs 2.5 cr is being given to the IMC to make the city look clean and he would not listen to any excuses when it comes to cleanliness.
