Indore : A local court sentenced on Monday sentenced a man to life imprisonment three years after he killed his wife over a trivial issue.

Sunil Barodia, a resident of Chhatri Pura area was awarded the sentence after conviction over the statement of the victim, medical report and statements by 12 witnesses.   Public prosecutor Mohanlal Bagora said the killing occurred on June 21, 2011 when accused set his wife ablaze over trial issue. On the day of the incident the accused got angry after returning home when he show his father sleeping outside home. He fought with his wife, who tried to pacify him saying that father was heavily drunk and he himself slept outside the house. Without paying any attention to explanation given by his wife, the accused first beat her wife then pour kerosene and set her ablaze. The victim was taken to hospital with 36 per cent burn injuries where she scrummed to her injuries.
