Leprosy screening camp concludes

BURHANPUR : The reconstructive cases of leprosy were screened for reconstructive surgeries at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukharjee Hospital under National Leprosy Eradication Program, recently. Five selected leprosy patients are to be operated at Saint Joseph Leprosy Centre situated at Sanawad on November 20.

The leprosy patients were selected for their surgeries with the help camp’s sister Grace, Project officer Mohan Birla and operation theatre technician Pradeep Singh Chouhan whereas the screening of the leprosy patients were performed by assistant district leprosy officer Yamini Bhusan Sashatri. Fare and lunch were also provided to the patients after completing their screenings.

Notably, Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. HN Nayak informed that no charges will be taken for food and shelter of the selected patients during their operation at leprosy care centre. And around Rs. 8000 will also be given to each of the operated patients by authority.

During the ongoing camp, district leprosy supervisor GS Chouhan, GJ Dharmkar, BR Gwadey, BK Yadu, Kailash Patel, Anwar Khan, Kusum Pathak, Jai Kishan Pinjaniya, Ramesh Chand Shah and Dinesh Piru were also present.
