Indore: Eight samples of ladoos that were collected from Khajrana Ganesh Temple area in August were found to be sub- standard. The samples were collected as a part of joint action against adulteration of food by the Health Department of Indore Municipal Corporation and the Food & Drug Administration Department As the festive season draws near, the fear of adulterated food has also increased.

The common man who is already afraid of products made from Mawa had switched to gifting dry fruits, but the recent raids have also revealed that certain dry fruit merchants are also involved in selling fake dry fruits.

Amidst all these the ladoo samples from shops surrounding the famous temple are found of low quality adding woes to already worried common man.

“ The samples, collected from those shops selling ladoos, have failed in the tests conducted at State Food Laboratory and the department is contemplating action against the guilty,” said Dr DC Garg, Chief Health Officer of the city.
