Indore: Khandwa Property dealer Rajesh Jain was kidnapped from Indore on Saturday and a case was registered by Khandwa police on the report of Rajesh’s kin– Anuj Jain. Rajesh’s kidnappers demanded Rs 5 crore ransom from his family on phone to set him free.
The accused, who was staying at Hotel Ranjeet, posing himself as Dinesh Singh of Allahabad presented himself in such a manner that many property dealers started meeting him in the hotel room for business purposes. The hotel management did not bother to ask the accused his address proof due to his seemingly friendly relationship with number of well- known businessmen.
The accused then invited Rajesh and his partner Santosh Jain to Indore regarding a business deal on August 24 and kidnapped Rajesh from a hotel in Indore . The matter seems to be regarding land disputes and land mafia were suspected to be involved in the execution of the crime.
The accused posing himself as Dinesh Singh stayed in the hotel for a week paying mere Rs 800 and the hotel staff refrained from asking him for identity proof due to his appearance as a big shot.
“ The case is complex and the abduction was well planned. We will do our best to free Rajesh from the kidnappers. The accused was living in the hotel since August 17 and the police have recovered CCTV footages of meeting with the accused at Sarafa Bazaar. The police are also investigating into acquired mobile details and are hoping to nab the accused soon. The incident is unique and first of its kind here and was executed after much planning.” Manoj Sharma, SP
