Indore : Madhya Pradesh’s Home Minister Babulal Gaur and top cops of the state felicitated 30 police officers of the state for their remarkable contribution to the services in ‘Salaam Madhya Pradesh’ felicitation function on Sunday.
Retired Director General, Border Security Force (BSF) Prakash Singh, Principal Secretary, Home B P Singh and Additional Director General, Madhya Pradesh Police Pavan Jain also addressed the audience and spoke at length on police reforms.
Prakash Singh also elaborated on the history of police reforms in India. He underscored the need to keep the police away from external, particularly political influence. Providing statistics about police force and its infrastructure in the country, he further added that both external and internal police reforms are the need of the hour. He also cited three major challenges faced by India as terrorism, maoism and corruption and spoke of the police’s role in fighting them.
A cultural programme was also organized on the occasion in which television artist Garima Jain, and several others gave foot-tapping performances.
IG, Ujjain Madhu Kumar, IG, Indore Vipin Maheshwari, DIG, Indore Rakesh Gupta and Indore Collector Akash Tripathi were also present. Madan Mohan Chaudhary and RJ Kunal conducted the programme.
