Indore : The junior doctors of MY Hospital will go on indefinite strike from Thursday in support of their 12-point demand. They will go on strike under the banner of Madhya Pradesh Central Junior Doctors Association and junior doctors of other government medical colleges of the state will support the strike.

However, President of Junior Doctors Association Dr Pankaj Tejaswani said, “We will go on indefinite strike and more than 1500 junior doctors of the State will participate in the strike.”

He further said that emergency services won’t hit as the doctors would work in the casualty and ICUs of the hospitals.

“The hospital administration has spent Rs 55 lakh for killing rodents but they are not worried about the health of the patients. When the junior doctors asked for medicines, they provided medicines for one or two patients but not for all,” Dr Tejaswani said.

He also claimed that the hospital administration did not touch the doctors’ duty room during the renovation and failed to provide water in the toilets of the hospital.

It is to be noted that Junior Doctors of MY Hospital under the banner of Madhya Pradesh Central Junior Doctors Association gave a memo to the college administration addressed to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan.

They presented their 12-point demands including security, health insurance and hike in stipend.

Meanwhile, acting Dean of MGM Medical College Dr Sanjay Dixit, junior doctors have given a notice regarding their strike after which they have made alternate arrangements.

“Their local issued have been resolved and action of remaining demands will be taken by the state government,” Dr Dixit said.
