Thikri: Around 20 boxes of iron syrup (Folic Acid) bottles were found expired and lying in the ICDS centre of Mahila Bal Vikas Department, during the surprise inspection by the project officer on Monday. These syrup bottles were provided by the department here, for distribution among the rural children; but they were not distributed in time and their expiry dates passed away.

The project officer visited the centre as a surprise inspection on Monday and got herself shocked, when she found around 18-20 boxes of bottles of iron supplement lying unused here, with dates expired. Their manufacturing date was May 2011 and the expiry date was December 2012.

The bottles were provided for distribution among the local children of the age group of one to six years. But, these bottles were not distributed due to negligence and now, after their expiry, they were seized. The project officer documented a ‘Panchnama’ of the seizure of these bottles and sent to the collector with his report. It is expected that, the administration will take action against the responsible employees soon.
