Ratlam- Fatehabad DMU will replace meter- gauge train
Indore: The Interim Rail Budget, presented in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, ignore the commercial city of the state. Indoreans will have to wait for full railway budget, likely to be presented in June by the new government at the Centre. The budget presented by Railway Minister Mallikarjun Kharge did not touch various development projects.
He announced a DMU train between Ratlam and Fatehabad after the gauge conversion. Rail expert Nagesh Namjoshi says it’s not new train, it’s just a replacement of meter- gauge train, which was running before the gauge conversion.
He said Indore drew blank in the budget and the minister did not announce any new trains for Indore or increase the frequency of existing trains. He even did not touch issues of development of rail projects associated with Indore like Indore- Dahod Rail line, Indore- Manmad and Indore- Khandwa gauge conversion.
