Indore : A seriously injured girl succumbed to her injuries on Sunday at the hospital. She was on her way to petrol pump with her younger sister on her scooty when an unidentified vehicle hit their vehicle.
According to ASI Baliram Verma of Bhawarkuwa police station, the accident occurred on December 6 opposite Indian Coffee House on Khandwa Road.
Namrata Singh (21), a resident of Shrikrishna Avenue, was on her way to petrol bunk with her younger sister Pratibha when the vehicle hit their scooty from behind.
After the accident, the driver fled the scene while seriously injured Namrata and her sister were rushed to the hospital by the passers-by. Pratibha was discharged after being administered first-aid.
Namrata succumbed to her injuries on Sunday morning. Neither Pratibha nor the commuters could see the speeding vehicle and therefore the police are now relying on footage from the CCTV in the area to nab the culprit.
Namrata’s father is an officer in Bharatiya Kapas Nigam and hails from Etawah in UP. Police handed over the body to her family members after the autopsy. She will be cremated in her native town Etawah. Namratha was preparing for competitive examination in the city when the tragedy struck.
