Indore: Youth on run in theft cases arrested

Indore Local crime branch police on Sunday arrested a person who was on the run after committing thefts in the city. Two of his accomplices were arrested earlier. The accused, who was hiding in Gujarat after his friends were arrested, came to city for some work. Additional Superintendent of Police (crime) Amarendra Singh said police came to know that a person named Mahendra Singh of Tanda in Dhar district was arrested by Annapurna police station few months ago.

He admitted that he committed thefts with Karan Manohar of Tanda and Rakesh of Piplani. Acting on tip-off, the crime branch and Annapurna police station staff arrested Karan from Super Corridor on Sunday. Accused Karan told police that he came to city with Mahendra and Rakesh few months ago and stole cash, laptop and other valuables from two medical stores at Narendra Tiwari Marg.

Later, they had stolen a bike from near a medical store after which they had reached in Sudama Nagar where they had entered a post office and decamped with locker containing cash of Rs 1 lakh. Karan told police that he committed thefts in Raoji Bazaar, Juni Indore, Malharganj, Chandan Nagar in the city. Karan and his accomplices were involved in thefts in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Rajasthan.
