Indore: State cyber cell arrested a person for stealing Rs 70,000 while using credit card details of another person on Monday. Mobile phone bank passbooks and debit cards were recovered from accused. Further investigation is underway. Superintendent of Police (cyber cell) Jitendra Singh said complainant Ganga Sahay Joshi had lodged a complaint that unidentified persons have stolen money using his credit card details.
The accused had transferred the money in two e-wallets. A case was registered by police and a team led by inspector Ambarish Mishra was constituted to trace the accused. Investigation team came to know that a person named Rahul Asawra had used two e-wallets to transfer money from Joshi’s credit card. The accused had obtained the credit card number and he somehow took one time password to steal money.
He had transferred Rs 70,000 in two e-wallets. Later, he transferred money to his bank accounts. After information, cyber cell officials arrested him from his residence. Accused Rahul, a resident of Bijalpur, said that he spent entire money. Cell officials recovered a mobile phone, two bank passbooks, ATM card and a mobile phone SIM from the accused. The investigating team is trying to know about other accomplices involved in the crime.
