Indore: Police on Wednesday arrested a youth for allegedly harassing a differently-abled couple for money as interest even after getting the principal amount. The couple had borrowed a loan from the accused to pay as down payment for their new house in Silicon City.

The victim couple lodged a complaint with DIG Santosh Kumar Singh that one Devendra Pandit had lured them to borrow money for the house in Silicon City Rs 28 lakh. A loan amount of Rs 23.60 lakh was sanctioned from the bank and they borrowed Rs 3.5 lakh from Pandit on 7 percent interest.

The couple stated in their complaint that Pandit took Rs 5.5 lakh with interest till date and is demanding more money as interest. He also threatened them when they showed their inability to pay more money as interest.

On Wednesday, the accused was arrested by the City Crime Branch and was handed over to Sanyogitaganj police for further action.
