Indore: Days after Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) chose a private IT company for developing “result software”, Youth Congress on Thursday lodged an objection with the university asking how can it select contract of such an important project, which is related to confidentiality of results, to a private firm.
The Youth Congress also stated that Oswal company, which has been selected for the DAVV contract, had a dispute with Indore Municipal Corporation.
IMC had hired the company for a project. Later, the two had some dispute and reached court. “The DAVV is also a government run organization. How can it award contract to a company which had dispute with another government run organization?,” said Youth Congress leader Abhijeet Pandey.
He, however, stated that it was not his main concern. “My main concern is that a firm not approved by government has been selected for the contract on software related to result processing,” Pandey said.
DAVV had floated tenders for resulting process work under which IT company was required to build a software for the university in which nearly 3 lakh students are enrolled.
Three companies, including government approved CRIPS, had applied for the contract. After technical and financial bids, the DAVV chose Oswal for the project. As per details, the company would develop software for result processing at an outlay of Rs 2 crore. The company would also maintain it for five years for Rs 4.77 crore.
