Indore: Youth arrested with valuables worth lakhs of rupees

Indore: Police arrested a notorious criminal in connection with theft incidents and recovered valuables worth lakhs of rupees in Rajendra Nagar area on Thursday. He was involved in three theft incidents in the city. Rajendra Nagar police station incharge Sunil Sharma said that a team was working on theft incident that took place at locked house in Badribag Colony recently. A man was captured in the CCTV installed near the spot. Since then, the police were searching for the suspect. Acting on a tip-off, police arrested accused Javed alias Pappan of Shrinagar area of the city from near Choithram Mandi on Wednesday night.

In sustained questioning, accused allegedly confessed to commit theft at the house in Badribag Colony. He also admitted to commit thefts at two more places in the area. After this information, police recovered gold ornaments weighted more than 80 grams from him. Rs 13,000 were also recovered from the accused. Further investigation is underway. Police informed that the accused is a criminal has 17 cases registered on him including assault, extortion of money, gambling, loot, theft, robbery. He was involved in the criminal activities since 2012.
