Indore: A girl was robbed of gold chain by two scooter-borne persons in busiest area under San yogita ganj police station jurisdiction on Wednesday night. Two suspects were captured in the CCTV grab but the police could not find any clue even after 24 hours of the incident.
The incident took place near Saint Paul School in Navratanbagh area around 9 pm. 26-year-old Sushmita Singh lodged a complaint with police that she along with friend Prachi was taking a walk in Navratanbagh area when two persons coming from behind, snatched her gold chain.
She cried for help when some people gather but the smart accused had vanished into the thin by then. They were on a scooter and managed to flee towards Old Sehore Road after committing the crime. She could not see the scooter number. After the incident, police team reached the spot and cordoned off the area but the robbers were cleared off.
Sanyogitaganj police station in-charge Subodh Kshotriya said CCTVs installed near the spot were examined when two suspects on a scooter were seen behind the girl. Their faces were not clear but we will trace them soon. The scooter borne miscreants had also snatched mobile phones from two persons in New Palasia area.
Three persons on an Activa scooter had robbed Ajay Singh Verma’s i-phone while he was taking a walk on Tuesday night. The same miscreants had robbed mobile phone of Prateek Paliwal on the same day. Sources claimed a girl was also robbed by two scooterist near Janzeerwala Square a couple of days ago.
Miscreants on scooter are active in committing crime in the city for past many days. They are also captured in the CCTVs but they are still out of reach of the police that raised question on police alertness in the city.
