Indore: Woman duped of Rs1 lakh in name of personal loan

Indore: A woman was duped of Rs 1 lakh by a conman who lured her for personal loan in Palasia area on Monday. The accused took money from her in the name of completing formalities.

According to Palasia police station staff, the woman, who is a resident of Baikunthdham Colony, lodged a complaint stating that she was contacted by a man who posed himself as a bank official.

She said that the man lured her to provide personal loan and told her to give Rs 1 lakh to complete paper formalities. She later transferred Rs100,300 in a bank account given by the accused.

She said that the conman posed himself as Suraj Chhotelal from New Delhi and gave a bank account number. She said after getting Rs 1 lakh the said man neither called her up nor sanctioned loan.

The woman tried to contact him but all in vain. Police have registered a case and started a search for the conman. The police were also collecting details about his bank account.
