Indore: A woman committed suicide in Lasudia area on Thursday over demand of her in-laws for expensive gifts and lakhs of rupees in cash. The in-laws were also harassing her to fulfill their demand.
The police during investigation found that Sangeeta, a resident of Scheme No. 114, was harassed by her husband Rajkumar Saini, mother-in-law Tijabai Saini and sister-in-law.
They were harassing Sangeeta and demanding her to bring expensive gifts and Rs 5 lakh in cash for construction of their house and to buy a new car. Police said that Sangeeta could not bear the harassment and demands of her in-laws and became depressed.
Fed up with continuous harassment and dowry demands, she committed suicide on Thursday.
