Indore: ‘Will enhance telemedicine, connect med colleges with rural health centres’

Indore: Minister of Medical Education Department Dr Vijayalaxmi Sadho believed that expertise of medical colleges in the state should reach in the rural areas for which she will concentrate of telemedicine project. Talking to Free Press, Dr Sadho said that she will focus on enhancing the telemedicine project so that patients as well as doctors in rural areas can be facilitated. “Through telemedicine, all medical colleges will be connected with the primary, secondary and tertiary health centres so that patients can get treatment there,” she said.

Talking about Medical Council of India’s recognition to new medical colleges, the minister of Medical Education said that her department will take every possible step to get the recognition and their focus will be on increment of seats as well. “There is a scarcity of doctors across the country and more seats will generate more doctors. We will focus on increment in medical colleges of the state and will work to get maximum seats,” Dr Sadho said. Replying over super speciality project, she said that decision to start super specialty courses in medical colleges was taken during her tenure in 2003. “We will get the work completed on at the earliest so that people get better facilities in government hospitals,” she said. The Medical Education Minister said that MY Hospital is a government hospital where people from all across the region reach. She will look after the facilities and take action to improve them.
