Indore: With digitalisation kicking in, a start-up based in Indore has come up with an idea of providing entire office function from reporting attendance and expenses to chit-chat coffee corner in an application. The start-up run by 29-year-old Rachit Patni and his uncle 58-year-old Sanjeev Patni attempts to bring these innovative solutions for small and medium sized firms.  In a chat with founders of ‘Work Today’, Free Press asked them about growth of app. Excerpts of interview

Q. Why did you choose to start the app in Indore?
A. As a market, Indore represents a typical urban market with flourishing business and people ready to embrace technology for improving their work.

Q.Who are your current customers?
A.We have customers from all over the country and internationally. Since we have done trial in Indore, we have many customers from Indore. There are many traders, SME, agencies, distributors, architects who have been using our solution and have found it of great use. The feedback and reviews have been very encouraging.

Q.How is the model of your start-up work? Is it a paid application?
A. Both the solutions (WorkToday Lite and WorkToday Prime) are paid applications. The users can download the application for free and make a team of three, after which a subscription has to be paid. WorkToday Lite is available on Google Play Market and Apple App Store.

Q.Why did you choose to start a start-up?
A.At our age, the courage and zeal to accomplish something is at peak. I strongly believe that identifying the problem and providing a solution to it is the key to success ladder. The environment is changing rapidly and launching a start-up is not just profitable and exciting but also looked with respect.

Q.Have you faced problems in setting up or working the app ?
A.Initially, we struggled in getting our concept aligned and being a start-up, finding the right talent to come forward and join us was a tough task. There are going to be more challenges on way forward but we are convinced about our product and firmly believe in its scalability.

Q.Is there a similar app in any other country, in India, in MP?
A.Businesses need to manage the work and the team. People use WhatsApp or emails or SMSs, but those are not fine-tuned to business requirements. There are few app solutions, which have similar functions and features. We provide all such requirements in a single solution (web and app) and therefore are much more usable. In MP, there is no company working in this domain.

On a global level, there are organisations like Trello, Time-sheet.io, Lyria, Slack etc and all kinds of HRMS, which have all taken different approach. They are all massive organisations and well-funded, which indicates that the domain is hot and has huge scalability.
