OLD ‘WHINE’ IN NEW BOTTLE
After paying obeisance to Mahakal in Ujjain earlier on Monday, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi reached Indore at 6.15 pm. Addressing a public rally around 7.30 pm he said if voted to power in 2019, the Congress will provide relief to the businessmen of the country from ‘Gabbar Singh Tax’ and will simplify the GST.
Attacking BJP government at the Centre, he told the rally at Rajwada on Monday, businessmen have to fill thousands of forms for the ‘Gabbar Singh Tax’ and Congress will make GST ‘simple’ so that businessmen and traders do not have to fill reams of forms.
“After simplification and proper implementation of GST, businessmen would be able to work freely without any fear as they were doing before the BJP came into power,” he said. In a scathing attack both on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan over unemployment issue, the All-India Congress Committee Chief Rahul Gandhi said BJP had promised to give jobs to 2 crore youngsters, if voted to power, but the saffron party did not keep its promise.

Targeting Modi government on corruption, he said, “They (Modi Government) let a few people loot this country who later flew away. Nirav Modi fled with Rs 35,000 crore and Vijay Mallya with Rs 14,000 crore. Our Finance Minister helped Mallya flee with public money as he (Mallya) met the finance minister,” he said.
He said the Modi government “waived off” Rs 3.5 lakh crore of 15 mega industrialists. “If their loans can be “waived off” why can’t the loans of farmers be waived off. If we are voted to power in MP, farm loans would be waived off,” he said.
Rahul also raised the Rafale issue and said Modi government has supported Ambani and increased the rates of Rafale planes for Ambani’s profit who had floated the company only 10 days before getting the contract.
“CBI director was removed by Narendra Modi as he was preparing to investigate the corruption in Rafale deal. Truth will come to the fore soon,” he added.
