Indore: In view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, West Discom Company removed posters and banners from around 10,000 electric poles in the city on Tuesday.  With the start of model code of conduct west discom managing director Vikas Narwal instructed around 1000 workers of 450 electricity distribution centers to remove posters and banners installed on about 10,000 electric poles in the city. Company’s junior engineers and assistant engineers formed a team to remove all political banners and other campaign related materials.

A similar drive was conducted at areas under west discom including Ujjain, Dhar, Shajapur, Agar, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Ratlam, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Barwanmi and Burhanpur districts.  MD Narwal said, “The model code of conduct is in effect now. Any person who installs political banners and posters on electric poles will be liable to legal action.”
