Indore: After a brief spell of cold conditions, temperature in the city again shot up by four degrees Celsius as compared to the temperature recorded on Sunday. Similarly, the night temperature too increased by three degrees Celsius in comparison to what was recorded on Sunday.
The heavy snowfall in northern part of the country and the change in wind pattern had pulled the temperature down and forced the denizens to wrap themselves in warm clothes, unexpectedly, again in this month. However, the cold waves couldn’t reel the city for long as the wind pattern changed back to west/south west direction from the north/north east direction.
The temperature was hovering around 23-24 degrees Celsius in last few days but it has increased to 29.4 degrees Celsius recorded on Monday, which was at the normal temperature. The night temperature too saw an increase and was recorded at 10.4 degrees Celsius which was one degree Celsius below the normal but was three degrees Celsius above Sunday’s temperature, which was 7.7 degrees Celsius.
According to meteorological department officials, there is an uncertainty over the temperature in next few days as it all depends on the wind pattern. “However, chances of return of cold waves are very less as there is no recent spell of snowfall or rains in northern region,” met officials added. The humidity in the morning was recorded at 39 per cent, which was recorded 21 per cent in the evening. The average wind speed was recorded at 10 kmph.
