Indore: Vehicle lifters’ gang busted, minor among 3 arrested

City police on Saturday arrested three persons including a minor of a gang involved in vehicle theft. About 13 two-wheelers were recovered from the accused and further investigation is underway. The minor boy runs hair salon in the city and he used to change his hair colour to golden after committing vehicle theft to mislead police.

Additional Superintendent of Police Shailendra Singh said a team from Vijay Nagar police station was patrolling in the area when they spotted three suspicious persons in a loading rickshaw. They tried to flee after seeing police but they were arrested. One of the persons who is a minor had dyed hair in silver colour.The loading rickshaw recovered from the accused was stolen by them from Vijay Nagar area a few days ago. They were trying to sell the rickshaw for Rs 25,000.

The accused have bee n identified as 20-year-old Michra Bhil of Gandhwani in Dhar district, Pawan Vankhede, a resident of Vistara City (permanent resident of Kantaphod in Dewas district) and their minor accomplice. The accused used to conduct recce before stealing bike. After that, they used to unlock the bike using master key. They would also break open the lock of vehicles.

Michra is the mastermind of the gang. He had stolen two-wheelers from Indore, Ujjain and Dewas. Police have recovered three master keys from him. He used to sell vehicles in his village at cheap prices. The accused have confessed to stealing two dozen bikes from the different areas of the city. So far, police have recovered 13 two-wheelers from them.
