Indore: The income tax department has unearthed an unaccounted income of Rs 51 lakh, which was in possession of a urea and manure production company director. The disclosure came to fore after he was caught with Rs 23 lakh at city airport on Saturday. Income tax officials had received a tip off from Chennai that a man with several lakhs of rupees, which are unaccounted, is travelling in Indore-bound flight. The department sleuths identified the man as Trimbakeshwar Agro Industry director Vikas Gupta.
Gupta reached city via Bhubaneswar. He landed at city airport at 6 pm on Saturday evening where CRPF and income tax officials detained him. During search, Rs 23 lakh were recovered from him.
