Indore: Two timber shops gutted in fire at GNT market

Indore: Two timber shops were gutted at Guru Nanak Timber (GNT) market on Dhar Road destroying property worth lakhs of rupees late on Tuesday night.

According to a fire brigade official, the fire started at Mohammad Azgar shop and soon spread to the shop of Mohammad Afzal destroying wooden material, furniture, machines, a motorcycle and other goods worth lakhs of rupees. Sources claimed that some goods of one adjacent shop of Dinesh were also destroyed in the fire.

Fire fighters had to use about eight tankers and took nearly four hours to douse the fire. A LPG gas cylinder, which was kept in a shop, also burst in the fire but nobody injured in the incident.

ASP Rupesh Dwivedi and other police officials reached at the spot and supervised the action.
