Indore: Two arrested with cannabis worth Rs 42 lakh

Indore: Narcotics wing of state police arrested two persons while they were about to deliver cannabis on Bypass Road on Sunday. The seized cannabis is worth Rs 42 lakh in international market. A knife was also recovered from the accused. They are being questioned about the person to whom the accused were trying to deliver the consignment. Deputy Inspector General (narcotics) Mahendra Singh Sikarwar said a team was constituted to trace the drugs suppliers in the city. Constable Ashok Solanki and Kamal Chouhan received a tip-off that a person would deliver cannabis to someone on Bypass Road. After the information, the team led by ASI Pannalal Chouhan reached Bypass Road and started searching for the suspect.

Two persons in a car were spotted by the team on the service lane near Best Price after which team cordoned off the area and detained the accused. During search, 42 kilograms of cannabis were recovered from them. Accused identified as Kamil Khan and Bhure Khan alias Rafiq of Salsalai area in Shajapur district were arrested. A big knife and their car were also seized. The accused had taken the knife from a person in Shajapur. The intension to keep knife is being investigated. Accused were booked under Section 8/20 NDPS Act and under Arms act. Further investigation is underway. A reward of Rs 10,000 has been announced for the team that arrested the accused.
