For all those tax payers, who are yet to file their Income Tax Returns (ITRs) of Assessment Year 2018-19, there are still 3 days to go. On failing to do so, they may face the ire of Income Tax Department (ITD) in the form of imposing heavy penalty and even prosecution in the next year.

Similar, for those also who pay the self basement advance tax, can deposit the authentic tax by March 31.  As the year-end is approaching, all I-T payers must check their tax liability and ITR filing well in time. Due to the change in the certain I-T laws, for them no change of remedial measure would be left behind. Talking to this Correspondent Ajay Kumar Chauhan, Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax MP-CG Region said for all tax payers this is the last chance to file their ITR of

Assessment Year 2018-19 by March 31. Thereafter, there will be no chance for them to file the return. On the other hand as per the data study, the department has the record of all such tax payers. If they fail to do so, the ITD would have the legitimate right to take-up such case as per the I-T Law, which include the imposition of heavy penalty and even prosecution also.

Forget Sunday: I-T offices, banks to remain open on Mar 31
All Income Tax Offices (ITOs) of the MP-CG Region will remain open on March 31 (Sunday). Chauhan said he has directed all the officers to keep the ITOs open on March 31 to facilitate tax payers. Similarly, all the banks will remain open on March 31 as well. Lead District Manager Mukesh Bhatt informed that RBI has issued the instruction to all the banks to keep the branches open to help the customers for making payment of taxes.
