Thieves targeted a Jain temple in Aerodrome area and decamped with idols, silver chhatras and panchmeru stambh from there in the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. Two persons were captured in the CCTV but they could not be identified till filing thi report.
According to police, the incident took place at Shri Parshwanath Digamber Jain temple in Kalani Nagar. The residents found the temple door broken and various things stolen. They informed police on Thursday morning. Complainant Pawan Agrawal told the police that the temple is situated near his residence. He woke up when people reached there to inform about the theft around 6.30 am. The thieves took away three silver idols, five Ashtadhatu idols, five panchmeru and silver Chttras from there.
A team from Aerodrome police station reached at the spot and after preliminary investigation registered a case against unidentified thieves. CCTVs installed near the spot were also examined. Two suspects were captured in the footage but their appearances are not clear. Some suspects were detained by the police in connection with the theft incident. However, the accused could not be arrested till Thursday late night.
