Indore: Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan inspected ongoing projects launched by Indore Development Authority (IDA) in the city on Thursday. Mahajan visited the under-construction international swimming pool and Shaheed Park near Bengali Square.
The IDA officials told her that construction of Shaheed Park is complete but they are waiting for army war tank to be placed in the park before it is opened for public. The permission of sanctioning war tank is pending in New Delhi. In response, Mahajan assured to look into the matter.
Shaeed Park to be given to BSF
IDA PRO Kapil Bhalla said Shaheed Park will be handed over to BSF for maintenance, security and flag hoisting protocols at the park. Mahajan asked IDA officials to plan an indoor games complex at the land allocated for sports complex near swimming pool.
“The complex can have indoor games like table tennis and badminton. The officials should soon propose a planned layout for sports complex,” Mahajan added. During her visit, Mahajan inspected under-construction flyover at Pipliyahana Square. The pillars and walls of this smart flyover will have a 3-inch zig zag shape design to avoid being ruined by political posters, banners and advertisements. The under-bridge area will have open place for morning walkers and IDA will also set up benches under the bridge. During her visit, Mahajan was accompanied with Ajay Singh Naruka, MLA Mahendra Hardia and IDA officials.
