Indore: On creating two world records in 2018, state prosecution department was felicitated by World Book of Records, London, during a programme at a city hotel on Tuesday. Public prosecution officer, Mohammad Akram Sheikh said the department was nominated in World Book of Records for awarding highest numbers of capital punishment in the cases of rape of minors and murders in a year.
The second award was given to Rajendra Kumamr, DG prosecution, Madhya Pradesh, for the in-house developed e-Prosecution App. World Book of Records, London, president Santosh Shukla said award was presented to department by chief guest and former Chief Justice Ramesh Garg.

While addressing gathering, Rajendra Kumar said application was made to promote e-governance. The application helps in keeping a check on work done by officials and department workers. “The application has reduced pen work. Officers across the state update their daily work schedule, which helps in keeping tabs on their work record,” Kumar added. Kumar further said, “Application has helped in targeting and managing work of small districts like Khargone, Panna and Neemuch.”
