Indore: State not to end scheme but to make amendments

Indore: On the last day of taking cases of State Illness Assistance Fund due to its merger with Ayushman Bharat Yojana, State Health Minister Tulsi Silawat said, “We will not eliminate SIAF but will make some amendments in it.” Addressing media on the sidelines of Indore Municipal Corporation’s council meeting, Silawat said, “SIAF is still running and we will make amendments in it. We will not end the scheme.”

However, in a letter released by State Health Department after launching Ayushman Bharat Scheme stating that SIAF will be closed after January 31 and the treatment of the patients would be done in Ayushman Bharat. Meanwhile, Silawat also said that a new facility to treat biomedical waste generated by hospitals will be established soon as he is looking after the proposal and decision will be taken soon.
